The “SURE-SHUT” gate closer is designed to be installed on top of a wood brace post. The mounting strap is first attached to the gate side of the post, then the top of the post and the remaining tail is bent over the back of the post and secured to the post using 3 - ¼” lag bolts or construction screws and therefore will fit any width or diameter post.
The closer is constructed with a 1” x 1” x 16” square tubular steel handle, and a 3/8” round steel loop mounted on a 3/16” x 1” flat steel mounting strap. It operates on the same principle as a chain boomer with a 4 inch offset when closed. The closer is dip painted green.
