1. Provide excellent customer service by greeting all walk-in customers and assisting them with equipment service needs and/or answering questions regarding new products.

2. Answering all incoming phone calls and assisting phone customers with their needs.

3. Cashier Duties – Perform sales transactions into Point of Sales System by entering sales of parts by SKU number, or work order sales. Process sale to completion including verification of check information for approval, acceptance of cash, processing credit cards, and printing final receipt and invoice.

4. Customer Credit – Processing customer credit where appropriate.

5. Provide reports and information to bookkeepers as needed.

6. Work Orders – Responsible for partnering with Shop Technicians to create customer work orders, maintain open WO files and enter WO information into an excel spreadsheet to record and track all open and closed work orders. Contacts customers in a timely manner when WO is complete managing the process until the customer picks up their equipment.

7. Ordering parts on vendor websites as directed by technicians to complete service on all types of equipment. Responsible for expediting and tracking order to ensure it is shipped and received. Once received, ensure timely delivery to the tech in charge of the particular Work Order job.

8. Merchandising – Ensure parts we regularly carry are ordered and peg hooks/shelves replenished. Ensure merchandise is dusted and faced.

9. Submitting warranty work to the proper vendor.

10. Keep current with product information and knowledge to effectively communicate with the customer about their product.

11. Keeping the area around the cash register neat and clean through daily sweeping and organization.

12. Assembling and preparing products for sale during slow times of day and during slow seasons (winter).

Minimum Requirements

· Must have customer service skills with the ability to communicate in an effective and friendly manner.

· Must have the following computer skills: Must have the ability to search the internet, proficiency in Excel preferred and data entry skills.

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize.

Job Responsibilities

Off-load shipments of merchandise from trucks using a forklift.
Shipments of received merchandise must be accurately counted including verification of boxes, cartons, or pallets are delivered per the bill of lading or UPS/Fedex.
Inspect shipments for damage and document damage per the correct procedure.
Packing Slips must be gathered and the corresponding bill of lading documents attached. Notification to the vendor is required for missing packing slips.
Identify each vendor shipment with the PO number and date received.
Accurately receive merchandise following a procedure in as timely manner as possible to get the merchandise to the sales floor.
Responsible for balancing shipment quantities with the packing list following a prescribed procedure.
Responsible for entering the receipt of merchandise into the computer system following a detailed receiving procedure.
Responsible for recognizing overages and following the prescribed procedures.
Move pallets to the designated locations staging area using a forklift or pallet jack.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have forklift experience and be able to be forklift certified according to Shipton’s Big R Policy.
Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and stand for an extended period of time..
