FEEDING GUIDE
Amounts are based on a standard 8 oz / 250 ml measuring cup. Calorie Content: 3490 kcal/kg, 330kcal/cup
Feeding amounts are averages and your cat’s needs may differ. Feeding amounts should be adjusted as necessary to maintain ideal body condition.
Consult your veterinarian for guidance on optimal body condition. Provide your cat with fresh, clean drinking water at all times. Good diet, exercise, and veterinary care are the best ways to keep your cat healthy. If your cat hasn’t had a check-up recently, please make an appointment today.
Feeding Adult Cats: Fill your cat’s bowl with the recommended amount once daily. Allow eating on a free choice basis, consuming the serving over several small meals throughout the day.
Feeding Pregnant & Nursing Cats: Heartland Harvest Complete Cat Food provides all the extra nutrition needed by females during reproduction. Food consumption will increase during pregnancy, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female in good body condition. Offer as much
of this product as the mother will eat during lactation. Food intake can double or even quadruple during lactation.
Feeding Kittens: Kittens may begin eating solid foods around 3-4 weeks of age, so moistened food should be available to them at all times. Mix one part warm (not hot) water to three parts kibble, changing frequently to ensure freshness. Once kittens are between 6-8 weeks of age and have been weaned, they will normally begin eating at will. Kittens continue developing throughout their first year of life and can require 2-4 times as much food as an adult.
Monitor your kitten’s weight and adjust food amounts as needed to maintain ideal body condition.
